8 Weeks

http://www.babycenter.com/6_your-pregnancy-8-weeks_1097.bc?intcmp=timeline

Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

  • I am seriously gaining weight--no waistline anymore

  • Just getting over the worst of the sickness--If I don't eat often enough, I'll get sick but its not an all day thing anymore

  • Today, I cleaned up the living room and visited a friend--which is a lot more than I have been doing

Brianna and Victoria told me the exciting news! Congrats on the pregnancy. I am glad you are feeling better. Morning aka all day sickness is not fun!

Thank you! My sickness is annoying & uncomfortable to me, but it's really not anything compared to what a lot of moms go through. I'm very grateful.

Congratulations!!! I am so excited for you two!
I get morning sickness too, it is not fun. I feel for you. Look forward to the second trimester. The sickness pretty well goes away so you can enjoy food again--at least it did for me. (By the third trimester you no longer have much room for food, so it gets uncomfortable again).
